Mt. Tapyas

Mt. Tapyas is one of the famous destination in Coron. Tapyas is a local word meaning slice from a whole. They said that during the 2nd World War, the Japanese troops found refuge on top of the mountain and when the Americans found out that they were there, they were bombed. If you opt to go on a town tour, this is one of the itinerary. In order to reach the top or the summit, you have to climb more than 700 hundred steps but it's all worth it! Once on top, you get a 360 degrees view of Coron and sunrise and sunset is best viewed at the view deck. At the other side of the mountain there's a gazebo , I would suggest going there is a must because it offers a good panoramic silhouette shot for your photos. More about Mt. Tapyas soon...
